Choose Interims

Over the last year, Kind Consultancy has been doing more and more work on large scale compliance transformation projects. Keeping up with regulatory changes can be tricky for any organisation, but implementing the necessary response is perhaps hardest for big, complex businesses who operate across multiple sites, sectors and countries. In situations like this, we’ve learned that the most effective solution is almost always to bring in a highly skilled interim team with specific expertise in the new regulation. As a result of working on a number of these projects, we now have a unique pool of interim candidates with sector-leading skills relating to governance, risk, compliance, financial crime and change management. As well as those dedicated career interims, I’ve also found that over the last year an increasing number of GRC professionals in permanent senior positions are becoming interested in moving into contracting and interim work – many of them citing the desire for a new challenge, and the excitement of tackling a totally new project on a semi-regular basis.

On the other side of the equation, clients are finding it to be an extremely cost-effective solution. It enables them to pay only for the specific work they need and the time it takes to complete it. Of course, this sounds simplistic, but with many people still seeing interims as “too expensive”, I think it’s always worth mentioning that the cost vs employing a full-time member of staff who will be tackling your immediate project, on top of the wider duties associated with their role. It’s also not just a matter of keeping costs down – because we only work with the very best in this field, they frequently go above and beyond client expectations in terms of the scope of what they’re able to achieve and the speed with which they achieve it. In a field where people need to continuously accrue glowing references to grow their career, our interims are always prepared to go that extra mile. On multiple occasions we’ve also had our interims go on to assist the client organisation in recruiting a new permanent team member at the end of their projects, utilising their unique understanding of the specifics of the role to ensure that the permanent hire is the best possible person for the job.

That’s a similar ethos to the one we use when connecting contractors to our clients – whatever the level of position, whatever the area of Governance, Risk, Compliance or Cyber Security, and whatever the type of project your organisation is looking at, I’m confident that Kind Consultancy is now perfectly positioned to get you the interim talent you need to achieve your goals.
