Kind Consultancy is working with a new challenger bank which is seeking a Prudential Risk Officer to join their offices in Hertfordshire in a permanent, full time role with a hybrid working model.

Reporting to the Head of Risk, the Prudential Risk Officer will act as second-line oversight for Prudential Risk across the bank, with key responsibilities including:

  • Providing appropriate technical and professional expertise in respect of Prudential Risk management;
  • Supporting the ongoing development of the Risk Management framework and ensuring the bank operates within regulatory rules and that its policies and procedures are consistent with regulatory requirements and all relevant legislation;
  • Supporting the Bank’s policies in respect of Prudential Risk matters to meet regulatory requirements and good market practice;
  • Providing second line challenge of key prudential regulatory documentation; ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Plan and Solvent Wind Down Plan.
  • Monitoring and providing appropriate challenge on the bank’s Prudential Risk management practices including setting and adherence to bank’s risk appetite;
  • Supporting the development of second line prudential analytics and deep dives.
  • Ensuring that appropriate second line processes are developed for the assessment, measurement and management of prudential risk.
  • Supporting the Head of Risk and the CRO in providing second line review of new bank initiatives, products, developments, partnerships and amalgamations

Our ideal candidate for the Prudential Risk Officer opportunity:

  • Has at least three years of first/second line prudential risk management experience within a financial services firm (e.g. Treasury, Finance, Prudential Risk focus in second line)
  • Has a broad knowledge of the banking risk management landscape and past experience of dealing with senior management on risk issues.
  • Is familiar with key regulatory documentation such as; ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Planning and Solvent Wind Down Plan.
  • Has strong analytical skills, and the ability to assess
  • Is a very confident user of Excel
  • Is willing to learn and engage on new topics
