Kind Consultancy is working with a leading Motor Finance business which is currently seeking a First Line Risk & Control Analyst to join them in a permanent role paying £30,000 – £40,000 dependent on experience. This is a full-time position with a hybrid work model requiring 3 days per-week in-office in Manchester.

A newly created position within the Operations team, the First Line Risk & Control Analyst will partner and work with the first line executive and management teams to lead the continued build-out and maturity of our approach to risk management in the first line, acting as a bridge between senior business management and the Risk and Compliance function.

Key responsibilities of the First Line Risk & Control Analyst will include:

  • Designing and conducting effectiveness control tests to create a full picture of the effectiveness of the control landscape across the business
  • Making recommendations to improve control effectiveness, identifying where new controls are required
  • Managing and reporting risks, controls, issues, incidents and the associated remediations actions
  • Using risk management knowledge to support teams in developing new processes, controls, and features by embedding good regulatory and risk practices
  • Ensuring awareness of all governance-related initiatives (issues, incidents & actions) and regulatory or compliance monitoring deadlines
  • Innovating and finding new ways to build effective governance and risk management processes
  • Providing advice and guidance to staff in the development and review of operational documents, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting Management with the ongoing review, development and embedding of the firm’s risk policies, including communication and training.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness across the business.

Our ideal candidate for the First Line Risk & Control Analyst position:

  • Must have experience of working in a Financial Services regulated environment with a focus on customer outcomes, preferably with exposure to consumer credit and/or general insurance regulation
  • Has working knowledge of the applicable regulatory expectations in the motor finance sector.
  • Is able to communicate complex ideas in a non-technical way
  • Has robust stakeholder management skills, confident in interaction with staff at all levels of the organisation, including the CEO and Board members
