What is Treasury Risk?

Treasury Risk is the risk associated with the management of a companies’ holdings – ranging from money market instruments through to equities trading.

What are the responsibilities of a Treasury Risk Consultant?

• Maintaining and keeping updated in-depth knowledge of treasury markets, tracking how movements in economic and market conditions and interest rates may impact the organization.
• Contributing to and developing treasury policy.
• Understanding GAAP and how this links in to hedging activities and mark to market positions.
• Ensuring limits, guidelines and policies are complied with and any exceptions promptly reported to Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO)
• Producing reports to present to ALCO, and Senior Management.
• Liaising with the relevant national regulatory bodies such as the Federal Reserve, FDIC, NCUA and state level regulators such as the Department of Financial Services or Office of Commissioner of Banks (COB).
